The CDC forces vaccinated people back into masks based on Indian modeling and vaccines not used in the US
Yes, modeling, old data, and an irrelevant vaccine
The CDC’s latest reversal on mask guidance, once more requiring fully vaccinated people to wear face coverings indoors, appears to be based on Indian hypothetical modeling, cell cultures, and foreign vaccines not administered in the US, according to a science brief published Tuesday, July 27, 2021, by the CDC.
Speaking about vaccinated people becoming infected with the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant on July 28th, Dr. Anthony Fauci told CTV News, “When they were even asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, the level of virus in their nasal pharynx is extremely high. And it has been well-documented that they can and do transmit the infection to uninfected people. So, with that change in the landscape, the recommendation from the CDC that they announced today is that when you are in an indoor environment in an area of the country with a high level of spread, you have to wear a mask even if you are vaccinated.”
I thought that as of May 1, 2021, the CDC stopped testing all fully vaccinated people for SARS-CoV-2 unless they were hospitalized or dead? What’s Fauci talking about with this asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic testing in the fully vaccinated?
While Dr. Fauci did not reference the source of this “well-documented” phenomenon behind the CDC’s about face on masking vaccinated people, CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta hinted the day prior that the public may not be able to access this new data yet:
“New unpublished data showing that vaccinated people infected with the Delta coronavirus variant can have as much virus as those who are unvaccinated is the primary driver for the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's latest mask guidance change, according to a source involved with the process.”
Without naming a specific source, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky alluded to the basis of her new masking recommendation as being the CDC’s own investigation into fully vaccinated Americans suffering from Delta variant COVID-19 infections, telling CNN on July 28th:
“But with the Delta variant, we now see in our outbreak investigations that have been occurring over the last couple of weeks, in those outbreak investigations, we have been seeing that if you happen to have one of those breakthrough infections, that you can actually now pass it to somebody else.”
While vaccinated America eagerly waited for mainstream media to provide more information about this CDC investigation, Twitter was ablaze with the news that the CDC had quietly published a science brief about fully vaccinated people on its website on July 27th, which appears to address the CDC’s new masking stance.
Under the heading, “Breakthrough Infections,” after tooting its own horn about less than 3% of COVID hospitalizations being in the fully vaccinated, followed by an odd line about how beneficial breakthrough infections have been for nursing home residents because now they have much stronger immunity, and some discussion about the Alpha and Beta variants that aren’t relevant today, comes the line, “Studies from India with vaccines not authorized for use in the United States have noted relatively high viral loads and larger cluster sizes associated with infections with Delta, regardless of vaccination status.”
Holy cow, no pun intended. Is the CDC’s claim about nasal pharynx “high viral loads” in the vaccinated based on India and not even using our vaccines?
The CDC links to the Indian study that isn’t exactly a study just yet because a red warning at the top states, “This preprint is under consideration at a Nature Portfolio Journal. A preprint is a preliminary version of a manuscript that has not completed peer review at a journal. The posting of this preprint on this server should not be interpreted as an endorsement of its validity or suitability for dissemination as established information or for guiding clinical practice.”
Is this the “new, unpublished data” Sanjay Gupta was alluding to? We thought this was an American investigation. We’ve been diligently following CDC orders for almost 17 months now because we were told the CDC was following the science; surely this isn’t what they’re following.
Just imagine the collective record scratch in the heads of vaccinated Americans in high transmission areas who are now being forced back into masks. India? Not peer reviewed? Not published? Not for guiding clinical practice? And the most offensive detail--not even about American vaccines?
It’s get better. Apparently the Indian preprint was already rejected from peer review but Nature Portfolio decided to give it another go after the CDC based national policy on it.
The Indian preprint, available as a PDF download, opens with, “Here we analyse the growth and dominance of the B.1.617.2 Delta variant in Mumbai, with modelling indicating that combined effects of viral transmissibility and immune evasion are responsible.”
MODELING AGAIN? Wasn’t it wildly inaccurate modeling that got us into the lockdown travesty to begin with? Why would the CDC rely on Indian modeling if it has actual data from its own real life investigation, as Dr. Walensky told CNN?
Do these Indian scientists at least have solid assumptions underlying their modeling? It doesn’t sound like it. “There are substantial uncertainties in the date of the Delta variant’s introduction into Mumbai, as well as the degree of COVID-19 death under- ascertainment in Mumbai to date. We therefore explore a range of different scenarios varying underreporting and introduction dates.”
If those two lines don’t instill confidence in mask science, nothing will.
Is the largest health department in the United States pulling strings on reinstating universal masking based on an Indian “exploration” project with a “range of scenarios” in its parameters in order to compensate for all of the researchers’ “substantial uncertainties?” I bet 164 million fully vaccinated Americans would like to wake up from this nightmare right about now.
Under the PDF’s heading, “Delta variant shows higher replication in human primary airway cells,” which might be the crux of this preprint that the CDC linked to in their science brief, we can finally read for ourselves about the fully vaccinated Indian Delta variant outbreak cases that are posed to crash the American economy, force the vaccinated back into masks, require all children and teachers to wear masks for the next school year, and usher in vaccine passports to the Land of the Free.
Let’s dive in. “We infected primary 3D airway organoids with the Delta variant—”
Stop right there. What was that? Primary 3D airway organoids? Are those found in human beings? Not quite.
“Organoids are tiny, self-organized three-dimensional tissue cultures that are derived from stem cells,” Harvard Stem Cell Institute says. “Three-dimensional (3D) airway organoids pose a solution for modeling airway tissue,” writes a Corning Life scientists.
Again with the modeling. Let’s move on to the “larger cluster sizes” of the Delta variant breakthrough cases the CDC referenced in their science brief. The Indian paper covers that too—it was a March-April cluster of all of 30 “symptomatic” healthcare workers who’d received the AstraZeneca vaccine, called Covishield in India, which is not used in the US. Covishield is a DNA adenovirus vaccine with more in common with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine that less than 4% of vaccinated Americans received, and nothing in common with the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines the remaining 96% received.
It’s worth noting that in March-April India was experiencing its biggest spike in SARS-CoV-2 cases on record after coming out of a brutal lockdown and beginning its vaccination campaign.
The US experienced a similar spike in January, 2021. Is the CDC crying wolf over an event that might be unlikely to occur in the US again?
Shouldn’t the CDC be more concerned about the 80 deaths and 5,914 severely sickened fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts than 30 symptomatic Indians who got a vaccine not even available here?
The FDA has been dragging its feet granting approval to AstraZeneca’s vaccine in the US. Is the CDC about to unleash an attack on anything not mRNA to further advance this “therapeutic” technology across all vaccines in the US?
In its defense, the Indian study did address two other smallish symptomatic outbreaks in fully vaccinated healthcare workers with significant respiratory viral load determined by PCR tests with cycle thresholds of about 20, but again, this is the AstraZeneca vaccine not used in the US, PCR tests do not equate to viable virus grown in tissue culture, and they cannot be the basis of assuming someone is infectious.
The CDC ends its Breakthrough Infections paragraph by referencing even more unpublished data we’re not privy to that support the unpublished Indian study findings:
“These early data suggest that breakthrough Delta infections are transmissible. Unpublished data are consistent with this, and additional data collection and studies are underway to understand the level and duration of transmissibility from Delta vaccine breakthrough infections in the United States and other settings.”
Rest assured, the CDC feels really confident that this other unpublished data they aren’t telling us about justifies mask mandates for all, and we don’t need to worry because they’re busy collecting data while our freedoms erode once more. A July 27th AP article claims, “The data emerged over the last couple of days from over 100 samples from several states and one other country. It is unpublished, and the CDC has not released it. But ‘…it is concerning enough that we feel like we have to act,’ Walensky said.”
100 samples from some unspecified states and an unnamed country? Was it India? Why aren’t they releasing it?
What can be accomplished by forcing the fully vaccinated back into masks along with everyone else in a panic-cloaked power grab? Glad you asked.
· Making school children miserable until their parents agree to get them vaccinated
· Resume punishing the unvaccinated who stopped wearing masks
· Exerting authority until the few states that are leaning towards vaccine passports get them fully implemented
· Continuing to drive up testing numbers by now requiring the vaccinated to test after known exposure regardless of showing symptoms
· Putting yet another nail in the Johnson & Johnson vaccine coffin, and
· Coercing vaccinated people to accept a third dose of the Pfizer mRNA vaccine on their claim that it boosts protection from the Delta variant.
Standby. Our trusty CDC is hot on the trail of following the science. In case you haven’t noticed yet, this isn’t ending until you stand up and end it yourselves.
